Farm Wives United president testifies in Washington at U. S. Chamber of Commerce

North Java, NY – Farm Wives United President Kathy Youngers testified before the United States Chamber of Commerce Council on Small Business held in Washington, D.C. November 7 & 8, 2005. She was accompanied by her husband, Gus. Kathy testified on the devastation unregulated imported foods are having on the agriculture industry in America. She spoke mainly on the importation of Milk Protein Concentrate or MPC’s. These unregulated, not GRAS (Generally Regarded As Safe), MPC’s are entering our Country by the billions of pounds each month. MPC’s are displacing milk in products such as Processed Cheese Product, Prepared Foods, Baby Formula and many other food items. This product has never been tested for safety or nutritional value by FDA to be used in food products.
Most MPC’s are imported labeled FOR ANIMAL USE ONLY.

Farm Wives United Organization asked the U.S. Chamber of Commerce to assist in educating the American consumer to what is happening to our domestic food supply. Farmers cannot fight this battle alone. The consumers of the USA are being misled by fraudulent advertising and the assumption that all food on the grocery store shelves is safe.  All countries shipping food to the USA need to meet our strict food regulations and standards.

Gus was appointed to the Regulation Committee of the Small Business Council. He stressed to the committee that all food and fiber imports need to adhere to the same regulations and meet the same standards that we as U.S. producers and processors must meet.

If you are interested in this fight to save farms in America please get involved. Farm Wives United spokespersons are willing to talk to your group or organization.

Open Letter to Dairy Farmers
and Consumers

Is your MILK REAL or IMITATION? This is not a joke.  The huge processors, like KRAFT, are pushing FDA to change what ‘Dairy Products’ are! The time to act is now! The FDA is actually considering changing the definition of milk products, such as cheese and ice cream. FDA is considering such products as casein, cassinates and MPC’s (Milk Protein Concentrate) to be classified as REAL Dairy!

MPC's are the by-products left over after cheese is made. These products are NOT dairy, FDA considers these to be imitation. Yet, soon consumers can look forward to NO nutritional value in foods due to the use of these so called “food” (in reality non-food, imitation) items. Already KRAFT and other processors are using MPC’s in so called ‘cheese’. Look at the label: is it processed cheese food, or is it processed cheese product? FOOD is REAL Dairy, PRODUCT is imitation. Always look for MPC, Milk Protein Concentrate, if this is part of ingredients, your not buying REAL cheese. Take time NOW! Don’t wait for somebody else to do it for you! They won’t, anymore than they’ll do your chores! There is a bill before the Senate right now to keep DAIRY products REAL. Don’t let the huge Multi-national Corporations win. Let’s keep cheese real milk!

S.B. 827 is the bill sponsored by Sen. Clinton and Sen. Schumer, to keep CHEESE and other DAIRY products REAL Dairy!  Send this to everyone you know, friends and family out of state, tell them to write, fax, e-mail the Senate and the Congress across the Nation to support this Bill. This is URGENT! Take time now! Keep our food nutritious for our children and grandchildren. Multi-National Corporations are profiting by substituting these ‘cheap, fake’ substances in food.  Stop these huge Corporations from getting rich off of the health of our Children.
